How It Works
1. Purchase your Online Swim AnalysisBook and pay via the SPC website. Once payment is confirmed, you’ll receive an email with instructions and a private upload link.
2. Record your swim footageFilm yourself in the pool following the guidelines below. The better the angles, the more accurate and useful the feedback.
3. Send us the filesUpload via Dropbox / Google Drive / WeTransfer, or send an unlisted YouTube link. We’ll confirm we’ve received everything and when you can expect your review.
4. Receive your analysis & drillsWithin an agreed timeframe
(usually 5–7 working days), you’ll receive your breakdown, recommendations, and drill set.
You don’t need fancy kit – a modern smartphone is usually enough – but angles matter.
Aim for 3–4 short clips (10–20 seconds each) of continuous swimming:
Surface angles (priority):
Head-on (front) – camera at poolside, filming you swimming towards the lens
From behind – you swim away from the camera
Side view – camera walking alongside or static halfway down the lane
Underwater (if available and permitted):
Side or front view under the surface can be really helpful, but only if:
The pool allows filming. Privacy and safeguarding rules are followed
Other swimmers are not clearly identifiable
If underwater footage is not possible, don’t worry – we can still get a huge amount of information from surface shots.
Safety, Privacy & Permissions
Always check with your pool that filming is allowed.Avoid capturing other swimmers or pool users wherever possible. If filming juniors, make sure the facility’s safeguarding policies are followed and consent is in place. All footage is treated as confidential and used only for your analysis. We will never share or post your videos without explicit written permission.
What We Look At
During your analysis we will review:
Body position & alignment – Are you high and streamlined, or dragging water?
Breathing mechanics – Head lift, timing, and how breathing affects balance.
Rotation & timing – Are you rotating efficiently, or over/under-rotating?
Catch & pull – Hand/forearm position, path under the body, and “grip” on the water.
Kick pattern – Helpful propulsion vs. wasted energy or braking.
Rhythm & stroke rate – Is your stroke too slow, rushed, or inconsistent?
You’ll get a simple, honest summary: what’s working well, what’s costing you speed, and which 1–3 changes will give you the biggest return.
